Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker enjoyed a mixed night for England as they beat Slovenia 1-0 at Wembley on Thursday to secure their spot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and Spurs fans were divided on the right-back’s performance.
In what was a below-par showing from the majority of the Three Lions stars in front of a sparse Wembley crowd, Gareth Southgate’s men didn’t find their winning goal until injury-time when Walker crossed for former club teammate Harry Kane to score.
However the 27-year-old, who joined Manchester City in an initial £45m deal during the summer, had his fair share of dodgy moments too, including him failing to impress having been put on free-kick duty.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on his showing via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.
While some said “thank goodness Walker has gone”, others admitted that they do “miss him a little bit” following his late assist for Kane.
