Leeds United have now been contacted with the chance to sign a £40m striker this month, already holding talks with agents over a deal.
Leeds contacted with chance to sign £40m forward
Ahead of their game against Fulham on Saturday, to say that Leeds are in a good place would be an understatement. Daniel Farke’s side sit eight points clear of the dropzone and have lost just once in their last five Premier League games. Everyone at Elland Road is in dreamland.
Their position of strength may yet play a part in their transfer dealings, too. Whilst Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley and West Ham United struggle, Leeds could take full advantage and leapfrog them off the pitch as well as on it.
The January transfer window offers the Whites the perfect opportunity to make a statement that they are here to stay in the Premier League and a move to Elland Road is no longer one completed with caution.
That could suddenly hand them an ideal opportunity to attract targets such as Harry Wilson. The Fulham star has been in the form of his life as of late and that has only increased the interest of those in Yorkshire, as per recent reports.
The same can be said for Joe Willock amid reports that Leeds have set their sights on signing the out-of-favour Newcastle United man this month.
Both Wilson and Willock highlight the position that Leeds currently find themselves off the pitch thanks to their work on it and it’s not just those two on their radar.
According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds have now been contacted with the chance to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen. The Whites have reportedly held talks with intermediaries over a potential move for the Wolves forward, whose price has been cut from £60m to £40m, which would still be Leeds’ new record signing.

Strand Larsen would thrive alongside Calvert-Lewin
If Leeds can land an even cheaper price than the £40m being floated around given Wolves’ need to sell before they get relegated, then they should jump at the chance to sign Strand Larsen. He would simply thrive alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin in Farke’s 5-3-2 system.
Whilst he hasn’t quite replicated last season’s impressive form in the Midlands, the Norwegian has fallen victim to his side’s struggles for the majority of the campaign and now desperately needs a move to get back on track.

Alas, that hasn’t stopped new manager Rob Edwards from delivering high praise for his forward – telling reporters after his hat-trick against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup: “It was amazing for him. I’m really pleased. He’s been working so hard and it’s been a difficult time for him, personally as well, but we all go through this.

“We all have to take criticism when we’re in this job and in this industry, but it’s about how you can come back from that, and he’s been really good.”
Also dubbed “excellent” by Premier League legend Alan Shearer last season, Strand Larsen isn’t short on fans and Farke should be among them as the January transfer window progresses.
