  Phil Parkinson's side never really got going at Gaughan Group Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they struggled for possession and chances. The visitors were better in the second half as Jack Marriott, Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher – whose shot hit the post – went close but it wasn't enough to secure the victory. To make matters worse, Birmingham came from two goals down to beat Peterborough United 3-2 to leapfrog Wrexham into top spot in League One.

  While he didn't have a huge amount to do, Orient keeper Zach Hemming made some vital stops when called upon in the second half and commanded his area well. He faced off against one of League One's best attacks and kept them under wraps.

  Wrexham as a whole will rue not laying more of a glove on Orient, who sit 18th in League One. The Welsh outfit had far less possession (41 per cent) and fewer shots (six vs nine) and didn't test goalkeeper Zach Hemming on enough occasions. While this result is far from terminal, this was a forgettable day at the office for Wrexham.

  After this match, second-placed Wrexham travel to mid-table Stevenage Town on Tuesday night for more League One action, before hosting 17th-positioned Northampton Town next Saturday afternoon.
